PDO threads are dissolvable, medical-grade sutures made from polydioxanone—a material used in surgery for decades before its use in aesthetics. Placed beneath the skin during a minimally invasive procedure, they stimulate a natural tissue-repair response that encourages collagen formation and involves growth-factor signaling. Depending on the thread type, treatment may improve skin firmness and texture or provide a subtle lift.
PDO is biocompatible and generally well tolerated. However, swelling, tenderness, bruising, and hypersensitivity reactions can occur. Treatment is personalized, and expected benefits, recovery, and potential risks are discussed during your consultation.
